The Student’s Companion (Best, Wilfred D.)
My favorite book of all time (any Caribbean people with me?). This was definitely a staple in my childhood learning, and is largely responsible for my modest ability to string two words into a sentence. I believe it may be currently out of print (judging by the exorbitant prices on Amazon.com), but if you manage to get your hands on a copy, I promise you won’t regret it!
Booher’s Rules of Business Grammar: 101 Fast and Easy Ways to Correct the Most Common Errors (Booher, Diana)
Just got my hands on a copy of this, but I am already loving it! (Yes, I am reading a grammar book like a novel – don’t judge me!) It’s a great piece – Diana clearly has a sense of humor. If you like The Write Foot, you’ll enjoy this book as well. It’s written in a very casual but engaging manner, and the author deals with many of the issues that you’ll find here as well (seems like we share a pet peeve!). It’s reasonably priced at Amazon.com and is worth every cent (including shipping
).
